Tomorrow I will be heading to Chinle, Arizona, home of Navajo Native Americans. Here, I will be leading a youth group from Tuscon, Arizona on their first mission trip! We plan to build relationships with the youth and families of Chinle before putting on four days of VBS outreach opportunities with our local partners next week. Our goal is to invite all of the local kids to our VBS sessions at the end of the week. We are anticipating hundreds of kids to be in attendance to hear about Jesus for possibly the first time in their lives. Please pray that ears will be hearing, eyes will be seeing and hearts will be open to receive the Good News message. I am praying that these youth and families will come to believe that there is a God, there is a Savior named Jesus and there is Hope for their futures.
Although I’ve never been to a Native American Reservation, I have learned that there is often a feeling of desperation throughout the community as they are plagued by cycles of poverty, alcoholism, abuse, addiction and drug use. My hope is that our group will be able to bring hope to this darkness. Perhaps miracles will happen, healings will take place and change will come!
As we look forward to the summer season at Adventures in Missions, we are launching 50+ short term mission trips to 22 locations both domestically and internationally. Please be praying for all of these opportunities: for hope to be spread, service to be done, and Jesus to be shared with locals all over the world. God is always on the move in the hearts of those who choose to go and be used as vessels for Christ but we’re praying they grow in their faith as well. Don’t forget, we have long term mission trips and international bases that are also operating all the time. Join me in praying for their endurance, commitment and callings as they serve in difficult places and spaces. God is at work through those committed to being the hands and feet of Christ all over the country and all over the world!
Our theme for 2024, is MORE – “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21. And it is my prayer for you all to see that He is doing MORE in us, around us and through us than we ever realize. May you experience MORE of Him as you seek Him MORE in your own life. And may you find that there is always room for MORE in our lives: to give MORE, to serve MORE, to pray MORE, to share MORE and to attempt to look MORE AND MORE like Jesus every single day.
